James

Following a recommendation from a friend, James chose Norton for his motorcycle training in 2014. He did his CBT with us and then went straight on to pass his full bike licence first time. After gaining 3 years riding experience he joined the Norton team as a trainee instructor in 2017, achieving his Down-Trained certificate at the end of that year. He went on to earn his CBT and DAS qualifications on his first attempts in April and June of 2018.

As well as being an avid motorcyclist in his spare time, James can often be found at the cinema or geeking out to a new comic book or two.

Get to know your instructor:

Why did you become a motorcycle instructor? I can’t think of anything better than being paid to do something you love and passing on that passion to others
What is your dream bike? This is a tough question! As a child it was a Honda Blackbird. Now I’d probably say MTT Turbine Streetfighter
Random fact about you? I used to be a SCUBA diving instructor
What tip do you have for someone thinking about learning to ride / new riders? Firstly, if you are thinking about doing it, DO IT! And for new riders, just do everything at your own pace. Never feel pressured by others to do anything you’re not happy with
