It’s fairly safe to say that motorcycles have been a huge part of Michael’s life for many years now. He passed his test in the 1980s and after a year long stint of long distance courier work, became a fully qualified instructor in 2008.
Despite spending his working days on his bike, he’s an especially active social rider, both on the road and on tracks. He regularly organises rideouts from the company’s training ground & also leads an excursion to France every year with former students and friends.
He formed the Biker Mike Facebook group, populated mostly by like minded bike enthusiasts, including many former Norton students, to further promote these events and invite discussion & information on all two-wheeled matters.

Get to know your instructor:
Why did you become a motorcycle instructor? Bikes had always been a big part of my life. Being paid to ride whilst passing on the things I’d learned really was a golden opportunity.
What is your dream bike? Impossible question, but I keep coming back to the RC30. It was THE definitive sportsbike of its era and changed Superbike racing forever. It is genuinely iconic and will gather a crowd everywhere it goes. Plus I’ve had the NC30 for twenty years and they’d look great in the garage together!

What tip do you have for someone thinking about learning to ride / new riders? No matter how much previous bike experience you have – listen to your instructors. If they’re asking you to do something, it’s for a good reason.
